MuchLoved is a UK registered charity and both our development and running costs are supported and funded by charitable donations for which we are immensely grateful.
MuchLoved aims to help all bereaved people, regardless of financial ability. There is no charge to create your website memorial and we can also host your website online without any charge or obligation for 10 years [please see important notes below on authentication].
Your website is provided with sufficient memory space to add unlimited pages of information, hundreds of photos and also some music tracks. This is enough memory space for nearly all our users, however a few people wish to add substantial amounts of music and/or video to create a really in-depth multi-media commemorative tribute. With MuchLoved you can do this but will then be asked to make a small contribution towards the extra memory space that your tribute site requires.
Do you want to keep your site online forever?…
You can also keep your website hosted online ‘in perpetuity’ (permanently) rather than for 10 years, so that future generations of your family can continue to visit. In these cases, we do also request a contribution towards the actual perpetual hosting costs of your website, however there is no further annual or any other charge whatsoever.
Please remember that a contribution payment is only required if you want a high memory space or perpetuity hosted website and this payment can be made securely using PayPal or by credit or debit card. We accept Sterling, Dollars and Euros and we do not take or keep any personal financial details whatsoever.
As a charity, we do rely on donations to enable us to develop our service and to provide free 10 year hosting. We are very grateful for any additional donation you can make to support our work.
Free 10 year hosting – Important notes on authentication
When you first create your website, it is treated as trial to give you time to test out the service and the functionality offered. During this trial period of up to 3 weeks, you can enable access to any family members or friends that you wish, but general public internet access can not be enabled.
To update your website to the free 10 year hosting service you are asked to complete a simple online form at any time during this trial period, which acts as your confirmation to us that you wish us to keep your Tribute online for the next 10 years. This ensures that we do not incur long term hosting costs for any website unnecessarily.
This confirmation also safeguards the MuchLoved community by helping us authenticate your identity and so ensure that the service is never misused. After completing the online confirmation form you can also then enable public internet access to your site if you wish.
As well as the online form, we offer a credit card authentication alternative whereby you make a tiny notional payment (of £0.01 in the UK, $0.02 in the USA, €0.01 in Europe) which activates your 10 year free hosting upgrade. This process is automatic and immediately updates your tribute website whilst the online form requires a manual tribute check by our Trustees which can take up to 2 days.
