MuchLoved is a UK registered charity and both our development and running costs are supported and funded by charitable donations for which we are immensely grateful.
MuchLoved aim to help all bereaved people, regardless of financial ability. There is no charge to create your website memorial and we can also host your website online without any charge or obligation for 10 years [please see important notes on authentication].
Your website is provided with sufficient memory space to add unlimited text, hundreds of photos and also some music tracks. This is enough memory for nearly all our tributes, however a few people wish to add substantial amounts of music and/or video to create a really special commemorative tribute. With MuchLoved you can do this but will then be asked to pay a small contribution towards the extra memory space you require.
Do you want to keep your site online forever?…
You can also keep your website hosted online ‘in perpetuity’ (permanently) rather than for 10 years, so that future generations of your family can visit. In these cases, we do also
require a contribution towards the actual perpetual hosting costs of your website, however there is no further annual or any other charge whatsoever.
Please remember that a contribution payment is only required if you want a high memory space or perpetuity hosted website. This payment is made securely using PayPal account or by credit or debit card. We accept Sterling, Dollars and Euros and we do not take or keep any personal financial details.
As a charitable service we do rely on donations to enable us to develop our service and to provide free 10 year hosting. We are very grateful for any additional donation you can make to support our work.
Free 10 year hosting – Important notes on authentication
To safeguard the MuchLoved community and to ensure that the free MuchLoved service is never abused, we confirm the identity of all people who create a tribute before we secure their hosting for the next 10 years and before we allow a tribute to be made public.
We do this by ‘charging’ a tiny notional sum (of £0.01 in the UK, $0.02 in the USA, €0.01 in Europe) before activating the 10 year free hosting upgrade (we then automatically refund this sum). The transaction helps us authenticate your identity and acts as your confirmation to us that you wish us to keep your Tribute online for the next 10 years; this ensures that we do not incur your hosting costs unnecessarily.
For people who do not have or prefer not to use credit card authentication we also offer an alternative confirmation method through the completion of a simple online form. This means that you can still make use of our free 10yr hosting service without needing to provide credit card details.
