A memorial site that allows people to donate money to charities in memory of their loved ones has been launched.
The site, www.muchloved.com, allows friends and family to set up a webpage paying tribute to their loved one. As well as providing the option to add a picture gallery, timeline and life story, the site can be linked to a donations page to allow visitors to pledge gifts to a chosen charity. The donations page can be powered by JustGiving, CAF, or a bespoke in-house service.
MuchLoved.com is a charity set up to help people in bereavement by Jonathan Davies, who lost his brother and his mother. "MuchLoved is also a charity and so has a close similarity of purpose with those it helps support," he said.
Fundraising services consultancy John Grain Associates, has joined forces with the charity to promote in memoriam giving.
It has launched free downloadable templates for charities to use with their memory-giving programmes.
John Grain, director, said: "Their offering is wonderfully appropriate and respectful, and we believe will greatly enhance the service charities are able to provide to their supporters who wish to commemorate a loved one with a tribute of this kind."
