Brake

The road safety charity

Brake runs a number of support services including a helpline 0845 603 8570 and literature distributed through police officers.

The charity puts together press releases and research and statistics with which to help campaign for Government improvements in road safety and to provide public information.

Brake founded and runs Road Safety Week as an annual flagship event to stimulate community involvement in promoting road safety awareness year-round. See their dedicated Road Safety Week website, www.roadsafetyweek.org.uk, for more information.

Brake has its headquarters in Yorkshire. It employs a team of dedicated staff and its chief executive is Mary Williams who was awarded the OBE for her services to road safety in 2000.
