Amber is an activity based residential organisation offering numerous approaches to the re-engagement of young people into education, employment and society. It encourages young people to explore their dreams and desires, set their own goals and work to achieve them.
Amber helps unemployed people aged 18 to 30, who are on the edge of society to gain the motivation, self confidence and skills they need for sustainable, independent living. Young people who are homeless, have a history of substance misuse, are ex-offenders or have simply lost their way and are lacking a sense of self worth. Over 130 young people successfully leave Amber every year into work or college and sustainable accommodation. An 84% success rate.
In a supportive, residential environment young people are able to tackle any issues they may have, develop their interests, discover their strengths and learn how to work successfully with others. They are encouraged to explore their dreams and desires, set their own goals and work to achieve them - but at their own pace. Then, in the process, other opportunities become clear and they realise that they are able to achieve what would have seemed impossible a few short months before.
