Beating Bowel Cancer
We raise awareness of symptoms, promote early diagnosis, encourage open access to treatment choice and provide vital support to those affected by bowel cancer.
Beating Bowel Cancer provides information, education and support to bowel cancer patients, their families, the general public and the medical profession. We have a range of information leaflets and booklets available free of charge, a national patient to patient support network and a nurse advisory service offering medical advice by telephone. Our comprehensive website www.beatingbowelcancer.org is updated regularly with all the latest information on bowel cancer, including patient stories and treatment information.
Bowel cancer affects men and women equally, of any age. Almost 50 people die every day from the disease, and 1 in 18 of us will receive a bowel cancer diagnosis during our lifetime. However, bowel cancer is one of the most curable cancers - if diagnosed early enough, 90% of cases could be completely cured. Awareness of the disease and its symptoms is crucial in order to save lives.
Beating Bowel Cancer relies on donations from the general public and the generous support of corporate partners. We also organise numerous fundraising events and campaigns throughout the year for people to take part in.
