Bowel Cancer UK
raising awareness, saving lives
How We Help:
Bowel Cancer UK aims to save lives by raising awareness of bowel cancer, campaigning for best treatment and care and providing practical support and advice.
Bowel cancer is the third most common cancer in the UK, which means that every 15 minutes someone is diagnosed with the disease and every 30 minutes someone dies of it. However, if diagnosed early, it is highly treatable, which is why Bowel Cancer UK’s work is absolutely vital.
Bowel Cancer UK has always put patients and carers first, seeking to help meet their needs, improve their choices - of treatment, care and services - and make their voices heard.
We run the UK's leading Bowel Cancer Advisory Service. This telephone service is staffed by specialist nurses who can also respond to enquiries by email. Bowel Cancer UK provides information, support and literature to anyone affected by bowel cancer and can also provide information on campaigning for treatments.
Bowel Cancer UK’s health promotion work involves raising awareness of bowel cancer – its symptoms, risks and prevention – amongst a wide range of communities and workplaces throughout the UK.
