Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY)
Supporting those bereaved due to a young sudden cardiac deathEvery week in the UK at least 12 young people die of undiagnosed heart conditions. CRY was established in 1995 and aims to reduce the frequency of young sudden cardiac death (YSCD, SDS, SADS) by promoting and develops heart screening programmes and funding medical research. CRY supports those people diagnosed with cardiac conditions through its Surgery Supporters Network and offers bereavement support to families affected by YSCD. CRY also publishes and distributes (free of charge) medical information written by leading cardiologists for the general public. CRY funds fast track services at the CRY Centre for Sports Cardiology, the CRY Centre for Cardiac Pathology and the CRY Inherited Cardiovascular Disease Clinic at leading London Hospitals.
