Leukaemia CARE

Providing CARE and support to blood cancer patients and carers

Our mission statement:

Leukaemia CARE is a charity committed to providing CARE and support to everybody whose lives have been affected by blood cancers - quite simply, supporting a quality of life for all."

From humble beginnings as a support group set up some 40 years ago over a kitchen table in Amersham, Buckinghamshire by a group of parents of children with leukaemia, the charity (registered with the Charity Commission on 11th September 1969) has grown to become a one million pound charity working with a professional and caring team of employees, trustees and volunteers. We now support the needs of those (no longer just children) living with leukaemia and the allied blood disorders.

Now based in Blackpole, Worcester and with this team, Leukaemia CARE has developed and expanded in an effort to address the needs of our patients and their families, but which also position us as a driving force amongst leukaemia charities. Our focus is not research, but to provide practical care and support in every way we can through our eight key services: our 24hr freephone helpline, our message board, information booklets, support group network, volunteers, financial assistance, holiday programme and patient advocacy.
