Noah's Ark Trust is a charity which was founded in 1998 to provide grief support to bereaved children and young people in Worcestershire.
Until that time, there had been no such support available to families in the County. Due to increasing demand for our excellent service we now provide support to families in Herefordshire. Referrals come to us from Schools, GPs, Health Visitors, Youth Officers, and other professionals directly involved with children. Families may also contact us direct.
All our services are provided to families free of charge. However, the support of the local community, along with other funding streams, is vital to maintaining the existence of the organisation and the level of service provided.
At Noah's Ark we provide young people with the opportunity to participate in a residential weekend at the Malvern Hills Outdoor Centre (MHODC) where they can make friends with others who have also experienced the loss of a close relative. During the weekend they share experiences, remember the person who has died, and learn to have fun again. Parents are also invited, indeed positively encouraged, to participate in their own residential weekend. This is run concurrently with the children's "camp" and is co-located at MHODC.
