Scottish Cot Death Trust

Supporting bereaved parents; funding research and raising awareness

The Scottish Cot Death Trust has been in existence in Scotland for over 21 years and during that time has made a significant difference in the field of Cot Death. However, with 1 baby dying from cot death every 12 days in Scotland our work is far from over.

The Scottish Cot Death Trust is the only Scottish charity raising awareness of Cot Death; supporting people coping with the sudden and unexplained death of a previously healthy baby and funding research into the possible causes of Cot Death.

Our Services include:
. Early bereavement support
. Home-Visiting for bereaved families
. Befriending - to enable bereaved parents to support other bereaved parents
. Breathing Monitor Loan Service - to provide peace of mind when a new baby arrives
. Educational talks aimed at health professionals and parents/carers of babies
. Research program to identify potential causative factors

We receive less than 3% of our annual income from Government sources and rely almost totally on the public to fund our work.
