Survivors of Bereavement by Suicide

You don't have to face it alone

The aim of SOBS is to provide a safe, confidential environment in which bereaved people can share their experiences and feelings, so giving and gaining support from each other.

They also strive to improve public awareness about suicide and maintain contacts with many other statutory and voluntary organisations.

SOBS maintains a confidential telephone helpline for emotional and practical support and organises group meetings, conferences and residential events. Many of their volunteers have themselves been bereaved by suicide.

Suicide recognises no age, social, ethnic or cultural boundaries. SOBS works for anyone affected by a suicide and their support groups are open to any individual or family.

They also offer support information including help guides, poetry and newsletters that can be downloaded directly from their website.
