Collecting Donations Yourself

You may wish to collect funds through your tribute site personally that you will then forward on to the intended beneficiary, for example to raise money for a specific hospital ward or for a non-registered charitable organisation such as a local campaign fund.

You can do this in your tribute 'Donations Settings' by choosing 'No thanks, I'll choose my own' when asked 'Would you like to use one of our partner charities?'

You then add a name and description for the fundraising you are doing and finally add the URL of the fundrasing page you are using to collect donations.

When collecting funds personally we recommend setting up a Paypal Donation page which is free and easy to do.

You set up your paypal account and then in your Settings choose 'Products & Services' and then 'Website Payments Standard'.

You will then see an option to 'Create a Donate Button' . You can add the name of your fundraising (under organisation name/service) and decide whether or not to request a fixed sum from donors before creating your button.

You will see generated html code under a 'Website' tab but you need to select the 'Email' tab so that you can copy the link as the URL into your MuchLoved Donations Settings.

That's it - all visitors to your tribute site clicking the 'Donate' link will then be directed to your Paypal Donations page where they can make their donation to your fund.
