You may wish to collect funds through your tribute site personally that you will then forward on to the intended beneficiary, for example to raise money for a specific hospital ward or for a non-registered charitable organisation such as a local campaign fund.

You can do this in your tribute 'Donations Settings' by choosing 'No thanks, I'll choose my own' when asked 'Would you like to use one of our partner charities?'

You then add a name and description for the fundraising you are doing and finally add the URL of the fundrasing page you are using to collect donations.

When collecting funds personally we recommend setting up a Paypal Donation page which is free and easy to do.

You set up your paypal account and then in your Settings choose 'Products & Services' and then 'Website Payments Standard'.

You will then see an option to 'Create a Donate Button' . You can add the name of your fundraising (under organisation name/service) and decide whether or not to request a fixed sum from donors before creating your button.

You will see generated html code under a 'Website' tab but you need to select the 'Email' tab so that you can copy the link as the URL into your MuchLoved Donations Settings.

That's it - all visitors to your tribute site clicking the 'Donate' link will then be directed to your Paypal Donations page where they can make their donation to your fund.

Updated instructions for how to create a link people can click on to donate to you
(note first you have to sign up at PayPal):

log in to your paypal account

click "merchant tools" tab

click "donations" in box on right hand side

enter a donation name that will remind you and donator what this is for
(you can leave id number blank)

fill in a *suggested* donation amount, user can change it as they wish.
select the currency you prefer (or that your donors will prefer).

choose a button image (doesnt matter what you choose if you are only interested in a html link).

choose *NO* for encryption for maximum flexibility in using the link to donate - not a big deal
important: if you don't select NO then you wont get a nice pure url link which is what you want.

Click the "Add More Options" button, and go to the next screen,
and then set "no shipping needed"

and select YES for collect additional info, which just lets people type in a note to you

you can fill in urls that they will get taken to after donation if you have some, otherwise leave blank.

click "create button now"

you'll then get a page with two results, an html code for websites with the button image,
and a pure url you can paste into emails:

that pure url for emails is what you want for adding to your Tribute site..and people can then donate via your Tribute
