When you donate through MuchLoved, a processing fee is applied.
This helps us provide a secure, Gift Aid-enabled tribute and donation service for families and charities.
There are no hidden or additional charges, and we do not add optional tips.
Why there is a processing fee
Managing online donations and tribute pages involves:
- Secure card processing and banking arrangements
- Fraud prevention and data protection
- Gift Aid administration and claims
- Hosting and maintaining tribute pages long term
- Support for families, funeral directors and charities
- Ongoing technical development and compliance.
By providing this centrally and at scale, we remove a significant administrative and technical burden from charities.
This allows charities to focus their time and resources on their work, ensuring as much of your donation as possible goes towards supporting their mission.
How the processing fee is structured
The total processing fee is made up of two parts:
- Payment provider fees (1.9% + 20p) applied to the original donation amount
- Donation processing fees (3.2%) calculated on the total amount including Gift Aid, where Gift Aid applies.
This structure allows us to handle secure payments and Gift Aid administration in one place, on behalf of charities, as well as provide a lasting tribute service for families to remember their loved ones.

Our commitment
MuchLoved was created following personal bereavement and has supported families and charities since 2007.
Tribute pages remain free for families to create and keep for as long as they wish.
In addition to providing the tribute and donation service, we also provide grief support and education, plus support other charitable initiatives as part of our wider mission.
