As part of your Tribute Settings panel (where you choose all your preferred website settings and options) there is a special 'Donation Settings' area which you use to set up the In Memory Donation facility on your website.
Selecting Your Charity
The first step is to choose your charity and you can select any UK registered charity. There is no restriction as we want you to be able to fundraise for whichever charity you want.
You can make this selection during the ‘create a tribute’ process or you can leave the decision to later on and simply select your chosen charity by going to your Tribute Settings panel.
If you wish to fundraise for an organisation which is not a UK charity you can still do this by selecting ‘I’ll choose my own’ and then you can add the name of the organisation and their website address for all donations (Whilst you will not be able to use the automatic online donate facility you can still manually update and display on your website all donations received by treating them as offline donations).
Display of Donations
All donations received are added to your running total which is displayed on your website donate page.
In addition, details of each individual donation made along with any message of support from the donor can be displayed as well, although there is also the option to keep any donation anonymous if either you or the donor prefer.
As well as online donations collected through the website donation facility, you may also receive a number of other cash or cheque donations independently… but still made in memory of your loved one. You can easily add these details onto your website as part of your In Memory fundraising total along with the option to display details and any associated message of support.
Optional Fundraising Features
There are a number of optional features for you to use if you wish:
- Display a personal message to potential donors about your reasons for fundraising
- Set and display a fundraising target along with a progress thermometer - show donations in real-time
- Highlight donations progress more prominently on your Tribute
