About MuchLoved
MuchLoved is the UK’s leading in-memory platform, where you can remember someone special and fundraise in their memory. We’ve helped over 500,000 bereaved people create their own personalised and free online memorial in memory of a loved one.
MuchLoved is the pioneering bereavement platform founded by Jonathan Davies following the death of his brother and shortly afterwards his mother. Finding very limited online resources to help with his own grief, Jonathan was inspired to design a web-based tribute service for others. In 2007 the MuchLoved Charitable Trust was established, to transform online memorialisation for bereaved people.
How we help
MuchLoved helps bereaved people by providing beautiful and meaningful tribute pages dedicated to remembering those they are grieving. The aim is to make flexible and accessible grief support available to everyone. To reach as many bereaved people as possible, we partner with exceptional charities and funeral organisations.
The support we provide goes beyond the platform. We offer practical services such as grief training, and are committed to championing grief education and collaborating with like-minded organisations and individuals who make a difference to those facing loss. We’re open to partnerships, collaborative projects and grant requests from those who are working to help bereaved people locally and nationally. To ensure long-term impact, today, the tribute platform is run as a social enterprise, with 50% ownership retained by MuchLoved Charitable Trust. This structure safeguards the founding purpose of the charity while providing the flexibility to evolve and meet the needs of bereaved people today and into the future.
Tribute pages are free to use. There are no tips or subscription charges for bereaved families. A small fee is applied to donations to cover essential running costs and ensure the services remain secure, supported, and sustainable.
How our service works
The MuchLoved tribute service is quick and simple to set up and use. It provides you with the very best way to record and share your memories and stories. You can add pictures, music and video, as well as light virtual candles to help you create a truly special and unique tribute site. Comprehensive privacy and invitation settings enable you to keep complete control over both access and display.
You can also make donations to your loved one’s favourite charity or good cause through your tribute page, including Gift Aid. Through your page, you can also create events and activities carried out in their memory, and invite others to take part.
If you wish, you can include details about the funeral service arrangements, including donation details, through your page, to share with friends and family.
MuchLoved tribute pages have helped raise funds for over 14,000 UK charities and good causes. We partner with 2,500 funeral branches and provide in-memory services to over 500 UK charities including the RNLI, Stroke Association, British Lung Foundation, Sue Ryder, Prostate Cancer UK and Alzheimer’s Society to support meaningful in-memory giving.
